ive been playing for 7 months and have some songs in my bag and can play some stuff i like but i started looking into improvising and soloing and making my own music and found I had to either learn penatonic scales or learn music theory or both is learning music theory neccisary?

Hello when you guys are practicing with a metronome would you guys stop after a mistake and run it back or would you continue and try again after going through the piece your practicing? I usually stop and start wondering if anyone does this or the other?

I am recently getting into economy picking and other techniques to play songs like Shepherd of Fire. Now since the solo itself uses various techniques like economy picking, sweep picking, alternate picking etc and it’s played ridiculously fast, what should be my approach to learn and improve while playing? should i break the song in bars and practice each bar slowly or is there some other way to learn it efficiently? thanks.
